I was hoping someone could help me with what I need to do to download, convert to wav / mp3. I have looked through the FAQ, but still do not understand. Any help?
Thanks!

I assume you're downloaded SHN or FLAC? Either case you will need conversion SW. I've heard some buring programs will do it automatically but mine won't so for SHN I use MKW and for Flac I use Flac Frontend. There may be better ones out there but I picked these because they were free and are both real easy to use. Hope that helps.

Not a big fan of the Wharf Rat from that show - not that I DON'T like, just seems sluggish. What's with that one part where it sounds like Jerry is shushing Donna? Probably not at all what happened but do you know what I mean?

you know what??? i can't remember that part off the top of my head. Of course i haven't listened to it i awhile (only burned it a couple of times). I think my brain is getting musically overloaded and i'm starting to forget things. Now i'm wondering if it is even the rat i was thinking of when i said i liked it (arrghh - im scaring myself now). i need to listen to it later for the sake of my sanity.

No Dire...you are right! The Wharfrat has some very sharp guitar-work, as does the Franklin's and Sugar Mag. It is a fine show. It just doesn't sound like any of the shows before or after. Really unique, imo.

I agree. I had downloaded a bunch of shows, 1 per year just to have a sampling, and when that hit the player I was stunned. Vaulted to maybe a top 5 for me.

Are you talking just on the Archive? I would assume FTP but I don't ever do that. Just an FYI if you don't know but only download lossless ( shn or flac ) if you're planning on trading. When I DL non-Dead stuff I won't trade or stuff for my girlfriend ( she likes Jack Johnson ) I DL the VBR zip file but it's MP3 which is a big no-no to trade, people get upset. As I have gotten advice on if you're DLing from gdlive you can use the Mozilla browser from firefox and they have a download them all feature so you don't have to do one song at a time.

I am looking at certain dead shows. not trading, just personal use. I am trying to access ftp for certain shows, but don't see the ftp address on some. in particular 8-22-1987.
That is one of my favorite shows.
How would I get that one for example.

Oh, for future reference - you might be looking for SBD here? Only audience here for downloading. In case you didn't know. Hope I didn't insult you, some of your questions just led me to believe you might be new to the downloading thing.
